JOB DESCRIPTION
The person in this role draws parts and products designed internally as well as those requested by clients. They may also perform certain steps in programming production machines. More specifically, and without being exhaustive:
RESPONSIBILITIES
▪ Develop drawings or plans based on internal projects or client requests;
▪ Create 3D models and 2D drawings of parts or components;
▪ Ensure that the produced drawings include all necessary information for production (dimensions, symbols, title blocks, materials, etc.);
▪ Collaborate in the design of new parts or products;
▪ Collect and document all required information for the production of new parts and assist in the creation of technical specifications;
▪ Save data according to established procedures and nomenclature;
▪ Apply library management procedures for drawings;
▪ Program manufacturing equipment to optimize its use;
▪ Perform any other tasks related to the position.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
▪ Diploma in industrial drafting or equivalent training;
▪ Proficiency in using CAD, CAM, and other standard software such as Office 365;
▪ At least 2 years of relevant work experience;
▪ Strong knowledge of symbols related to welding, machining, cutting, bending, etc., as well as materials and metals;
▪ Very good understanding of manufacturing drafting processes and practices;
▪ Teamwork skills, attention to detail, organizational ability, and responsibility;
▪ Excellent conceptualization skills;
▪ Fluency in spoken and written French and basic knowledge of English is an asset;
▪ Good learning abilities;
▪ Clear interest in the manufacturing field.
