3D Designer - Draftsperson

Cotech is looking for a detail-oriented and versatile technical professional to create drawings for parts and products designed internally or developed from customer requests. The role may also include certain programming tasks related to manufacturing equipment.

Your role

• Develop drawings and plans based on internal projects or customer requests;
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings of parts and components;
• Ensure drawings include all information required for production, including dimensions, symbols, title blocks, and materials;
• Collaborate in the design of new parts and products;
• Collect and document technical information required for production and assist with technical specifications;
• Save and organize data according to established procedures and naming conventions;
• Apply drawing library management procedures;
• Participate in programming manufacturing equipment to optimize its use.

The profile we are looking for

• Diploma in industrial drafting or equivalent training;
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience;
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and a strong sense of responsibility;
• Excellent conceptualization skills;
• Strong teamwork and learning abilities;
• Clear interest in the manufacturing industry;
• Fluency in spoken and written French; basic knowledge of English is considered an asset.

Experience / expertise

• Proficiency with CAD, CAM, and other commonly used software, including Office 365;
• Strong knowledge of symbols and processes related to welding, machining, cutting, and bending;
• Good knowledge of materials and metals;
• Very good understanding of industrial drafting practices and manufacturing processes;
• Experience or interest in manufacturing equipment programming.
