Factory workers

Welder / Assembler

Work at the heart of an automated manufacturing environment where precision, quality, and technology go hand in hand.

Fit and weld metal parts according to blueprints to produce complex assemblies.

Your role

• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, dimensions, welding symbols and procedures.
• Plan operations, select appropriate methods and prepare parts for welding.
• Position and fit parts into simple or complex assemblies.
• Set up, adjust, supply and maintain manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
• Weld assemblies in accordance with specified processes and requirements.
• Inspect welds, identify defects, verify quality and make the necessary corrections.
• Help onboard new welders, share your knowledge and coordinate the work of a welding cell as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by reporting issues and suggesting more efficient work methods. 

Your qualifications

• Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Welding and Fitting, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least five (5) years of experience as a welder.
• Excellent ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to pass a skills assessment.
